FROM
THE BISHOP From A
friend of mine, Jim Garlow, says it
this way: "We believe that if people
really knew Jesus, they would want him.
Who could truly know Jesus and then
reject him? Who, if they truly knew
about heaven and hell, would choose
hell? How could someone truly know life
with Jesus and then choose life without
him? Thus, our job is to help people
come to know him!" Here
in the North Georgia Conference, we
exist to bring Jesus and the
spiritually hungry together. How
are we doing? In 2002, we experienced
7,480 professions of faith! I am
thankful for all the pastors and laity
who continue to share their witness
with others. We
are called to love people into the
faith and the church -- to
compassionately slip our arms around
hurting persons, to show them the way
to the healing, reconciling and
restoring power of God. Bishop
