ON
SCRIPTURE From The
Scriptures link hope with
faith
(Heb. 11:1: "Now faith is being sure of
what we hope for and certain of what we
do not see"). Biblical
hope is a gift of the Holy Spirit (Rom.
15:13: "May the God of hope fill you
with all joy and peace as you trust in
him, so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy
Spirit"). Our
ultimate hope -- i.e., our highest
confident expectation regarding the way
things really are -- involves the
promised return of Jesus Christ and the
fulfillment of the His Kingdom (see
Titus 2:11-14; Rev. 21:1-4). Hope
is not for the few. It should
characterize all who follow
Christ. --

A
word from the Word:
'Hope'
Biblical
hope is not a mere desire, but instead
a confident anticipation!
Hope, then, is a bedrock belief that
the promises of a trustworthy God
actually represent reality (the way
things really are), even though
immediate circumstances may suggest
otherwise.

Be strong and take heart, all you
who hope in the LORD (Ps.
31:24).
