FROM
THE BISHOP From Here
is an excerpt from my sermon:
God
is here to comfort us -- to offer
healing and hope to our wounded
spirits. God
is here to remove any bitterness,
any anger, hatred, or fear, so that
we might be restored and re-filled
with God's peace. When
all the world is crashing down
around us, God's grace will remain
steadfast. Place
your trust in the Lord who will wipe
away every tear! We
are a resurrection
people! The
same God who blew the world wide
open at Easter, defeating death and
darkness, will shower unmerited
grace and unlimited hope on us this
day. Bishop

The
God of all
comfort
In
the face of tragedy, we remain a
resurrection
people
The
Sunday after the horrific shooting
rampage at Virginia Tech, I preached in
the Cannon Chapel at Emory
University.

God
is with us this morning -- nothing
can separate us from God's love and
presence.
For I am convinced that neither
death, nor life, nor angels, nor
rulers, nor things present, nor things
to come, nor powers, nor height, nor
depth, nor anything else in all
creation, will be able to separate us
from the love of God in Christ Jesus
our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39
NRSV)
